  1. Anyone else having issues with the fingerprint sensor not working in windows 10 on X220? It doesn't show up in the device manager at all, and windows hello can't find it.

  2. Thank you for this one. In many years of computing this one is a top notch direct approach to BIOS flashing. Something that makes me A LOT worried each time I have to do it.

  3. Hi,

2020 here. still working with the magnificent x220.

Recently it came to mind to install a new Wi-Fi chip since

i feel the old one has too many glitches and i came across

one of your other videos on how to install the dual-band chip. i purchased it from your link at amazon it arrive

    well and in good shape.

Now as i see , the bios update is a pre-requisite.

I checked my bios version, its currently

    8DET58WW (1.28 )

I know .. i plead guilty as charged, never felt the need to update before, really the computer did everything i

need and responded well when i installed an SSD drive and

added 16gb of ram to it, so really i didn't think about ,

doing any bios updates until now.

My question is (So you can skip all the intro):

    * I'm running windows 10. now i saw on the Lenovo site,

This BIOS update i supported up until win7.

Would it be safe to run on win 10? or should i go with a

    boot cd installation instead?

Really need an answer of this one, until than my new

WIFI chip will lay here and gather dust.

Thanks in advance for being a life saver πŸ™‚

  4. Hi, does this video work for the ThinkPad X220i? When I try to open the batch file it says that it was blocked by an administrator even though I am the admin of my computer.
I would really appreciate any help. Thanks!

  5. Thanks so much for the concise video πŸ™‚ I have a question though: since this was posted some time ago, I'm unsure if I should be first switching to bios version 1.43 as you did, or to the newest available, which right now is 1.46. The last time I updated the bios, it went to 1.46 and my machine would no longer boot. I ended up solving this by removing the wifi card and booting without it in order to finish the bios update). I'd rather avoid those extra steps though, if possible.
