Hi. My X220 BIOS version is 1.29. Can i update using same method in this video?
Hi,
2020 here. still working with the magnificent x220.
Recently it came to mind to install a new Wi-Fi chip since
i feel the old one has too many glitches and i came across
one of your other videos on how to install the dual-band chip. i purchased it from your link at amazon it arrive
well and in good shape.
Now as i see , the bios update is a pre-requisite.
I checked my bios version, its currently
8DET58WW (1.28 )
I know .. i plead guilty as charged, never felt the need to update before, really the computer did everything i
need and responded well when i installed an SSD drive and
added 16gb of ram to it, so really i didn't think about ,
doing any bios updates until now.
My question is (So you can skip all the intro):
* I'm running windows 10. now i saw on the Lenovo site,
This BIOS update i supported up until win7.
Would it be safe to run on win 10? or should i go with a
boot cd installation instead?
Really need an answer of this one, until than my new
WIFI chip will lay here and gather dust.
Thanks in advance for being a life saver 🙂

Hi, does this video work for the ThinkPad X220i? When I try to open the batch file it says that it was blocked by an administrator even though I am the admin of my computer.
I would really appreciate any help. Thanks!
Done it on my x220i and set memory to 1600 and still shows up as 1333 is it because the ram is 1333 and I can't overclock or is it just how it shows up?
How to update mine? E450
does the x220 flash file works on x240?
someone pls tell me
Thanks so much for the concise video 🙂 I have a question though: since this was posted some time ago, I'm unsure if I should be first switching to bios version 1.43 as you did, or to the newest available, which right now is 1.46. The last time I updated the bios, it went to 1.46 and my machine would no longer boot. I ended up solving this by removing the wifi card and booting without it in order to finish the bios update). I'd rather avoid those extra steps though, if possible.
is it work for t510?
