Today we are getting the B460M Mortar WiFi ready for the soon the been enabled resizable BAR feature for NVidia GPUs. It is already natively supported with some AMD GPUs so it will be a mainstream option quite soon and does offer some performance boosts and as the tech matures it should be another free way to gain performance.

As you can see at the end there is a tiny performance improvement already even without GPU support, so it might be worth outdating anyway.

  1. Great video, thanks Mike.

I got one those DJI Pocket Cameras.

First time I took it out I was walking down the road and spotted a sign outside a house that said “Talking Dog for Sale.” Intrigued, I walked in.

“So what have you done with your life?” I asks the dog.

“I’ve led a very full life,” says the dog. “I lived in the Alps rescuing avalanche victims. Then I served my country in Iraq. And now I spend my days reading to the residents of a retirement home.”

I was flabbergasted and asks the dog’s owner, “Why on earth would you want to get rid of an incredible dog like that?”

The owner says, “Because he’s a liar! He never did any of that!”

  2. Thank you very much, Mike & Kath. The last BIOS for my ASUS TUF H470 MOBO is a beta (No complains, for 3 years my old FX990 MOBO worked fine with a beta till CPU decided to say "this is it"). Althought it came with the last stable BIOS available, I'll wait for a stable file to update it. That BIOS file says. "Support 11th Gen Intel® Core™ Processors
    – Improve ReSizable BAR compatibility for NVIDIA RTX30 series graphics cards". Unfortunatedly, I don't own one yet XD

  3. 0:40 "Beata BIOS" Haha, what! Like a Wife Beata BIOS? Is this BIOS wearing a white tank top and infused with the affinity for regularly beating it's significant other? "You left XMP disabled again wench! SMACK You're the most useless UEFI of all time, I should have never married you!" – JK Mikey U, you know I love your accent. Don't change brotha, good vid as usual.

  4. Resizable BAR is coming to B450 as well (The BETA was just released for my board, I won't be early test dummy, will wait a bit before trying it). Now I have a Turing card and a Zen+ CPU. Mike do these older technologies have the ability to benefit from resizable bar being enabled? I'm going to assume yes, and yes I will look into it, just lazy. Never hurts to ask a friend since you're obviously working with it right now. I may even do a before/after Cinebench to see results for people with aging Zen/GPU configs like me.

  5. Don't know what the ambient temp was when you ran these but there was a 5'c drop on the after test meaning lower power consumption so, I think think this is actually working.

  6. Hey Mike I have a little issue I formatted the usb and unzipped the file. Did all the steps you showed including the cut and copy to the root of the usb but when I go to the flash mode it finds the usb but not the bios file. All it has is the system volume information file

  7. When I click on the new bios it doesn't ask me to install it and won't show up in the bottom window as the new version. It sees the flash drive and new bios file but won't do anything but let me exit without updating.
