  1. This day, the 11th of November marks the anniversary of the end of the First World War, when the armistice was signed between the Allied forces and Germany. May we never forget those who fought for our freedom.

  2. VKB gunfighter and then a grip of your choice. The MCG ultimate is the best, but a bit expensive. The number of buttons on it are a must for VR. Their other grips are good, but are made of of a lightweight plastic. They are Tough, but not exactly premium/realistic. Also, look at getting a long strong mount and the 250mm extension for full realism.

  3. Joystick recommendations? Okay. I have TWO of the VKB Gunfighter joystick bases. One is setup with the VKB adapter for use with the Thrustmaster F-16 stick grip. I use THAT for any aircraft requiring a side-stick. The other base is setup with the VKB 200mm stick extension kit and VKB UMC-L GF Stronghold mount. I use THAT setup for any aircraft that require a between-the-knees stick setup (including helicopter cyclic). The bases use Hall sensors, and come with a kit containing an assortment of springs and cams so you can tune it to your liking! I'm not affiliated with VKB in any way, but I'm EXTREMELY happy with their products and my setup!

For helicopters, I'm using the Gunfighter 200mm joystick mentioned above for cyclic, Thrustmaster TPR pedals for anti-torque, and the VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus Base with the VPC SharKa-50 grip for the collective. (FWIW — I have a Pro Flight Trainer PUMA helicopter control which I'm going to sell because the VKB/TPR/VIRPIL combination is much better IMHO, especially when you consider the cost of the PUMA!) I'm also using the VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle from VIRPIL.

If I had it to do all over again… I wouldn't change a thing! 😊

  4. Can you pls do a through the lense short video and is this headset as clear as the aero? How do they compare? Thanks and great video. I ask because the Pimaz is much cheaper just over 1k

  5. About the joystick: I personally use a Virpil MongoosT-50CM2 base with a 20 cm extension and a MongoosT-50CM2 grip. The base has all metal internals, different cams according to your liking and adjustable resistance. The large(er) extension is great for fine adjustments when you need or want them (e.g. when aiming). The grip has loads of buttons which are very welcome in VR. This setup is on the more expensive side, but quality and comfort wise, there is no compromise in my opinion. If I had to name a drawback: I'm not a huge fan of the Virpil software, but it does the job.

  6. Hi Steve, I have a Thrustmaster Warthog, still going from when they first came out. I did switch the stick to a Virpil VPC Warbird with a small 100 mm extension as this helps a lot with the very fine movements for strafing and aerial refueling (mpstly in DCS, but also some IL-2 and MSFS in the JustFlight Hawk too). Hall Effect sensors don't degrade or wear out. They're brilliant.
